Yosemite

(Sharni walking along a bridge)

Wow a spectacular place, absolutely beautiful!. We really enjoyed visiting here. More a holiday where the kids could run around, make lots of noise and well do all the good and the not so good things that kids do. Nait managed to take a few tumbles and is looking a little bruised and battered but other than that nothing to hazardous happened. We went for a few hikes, well walks I would like to call them as they were bitumen tracks. For those who have been, we went to Yosemite Falls, Bridevail falls, Mirror lake and few little side stops off the roads. They all looked lovely but I imagine they would be quite stunning in spring and summer with lots and lots of water. It was really nice to be so cold and we had to rug everyone up everytime we got out of the car. Tahlia was rugged up in a few faux fur layers to make sure she was warm and only her eyes and her nose saw Yosemite.

Sharni and Nait loved being allowed to run around and thankfully being Monday in non peak time meant it was bustling with huge crowds. They had a do a few treks which was great for them, we slinged Tahlia and took the pram as back up as we were not too sure how they would go.

I kid you not that there was a warning sign on one of the treks to Mirror Lake that warned about Lion Mountains and how you should not let young kids linger behind or run ahead as they could be pinged off by hungry lions!!!!!! hhhhmmmmm Needless to say it was excellent for us to use it if they even went a few foot away. 'Look out for Mountain Lions!' They didn't venture too far. But it was a beautiful walk for first thing in the morning and a long car ride up to Lake Tahoe to spend the rest of the week. Yipee to stop in one spot for a good while will be nice. Doing the walk at that time of the morning meant the light was perfect for photo taking. Unfortunately the kids were that thrilled with that idea. And I have learnt from other holidays that landscape photos without people in it just are not the same. So I did what I could. Which translated means a lot of the back of the kids playing.
